Shafaqna Pakistan: Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves recorded a slight increase during the week ending June 5, 2026, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The central bank reported that its foreign currency reserves rose by $25 million over the period, taking the total held by the SBP to $17.215 billion.
The uptick comes as Pakistan continues efforts to stabilise its external account through higher remittance inflows, stronger export performance, and ongoing external financing arrangements.
Meanwhile, net foreign exchange reserves held by commercial banks also saw an increase of $110 million during the same week, reaching $5.45 billion, according to the SBP.
As a result, the country’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves increased by $35 million to $22.67 billion by the end of the week under review.
The latest data indicate continued stability in Pakistan’s external sector, with reserves remaining above the $22 billion mark despite global economic uncertainty and volatility in international financial markets.
