Bilawal May Land Key Portfolio in Cabinet Reshuffle, Govt Invites PPP to Cabinet

Shafaqna Pakistan: The government has reportedly extended an invitation to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to become part of the federal cabinet, according to informed sources.

Sources indicated that if the PPP agrees to join the government, party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari could be entrusted with a significant ministerial portfolio.

A cabinet reshuffle is expected following the approval of the federal budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year, with several new members likely to be inducted into the cabinet.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has sought performance reports from all federal ministers. Based on the outcome of this evaluation process, changes in ministerial assignments and responsibilities are expected to be implemented.

Sources indicated that the ministries of commerce, power, housing, communications, finance and foreign affairs could see changes as part of the anticipated cabinet reorganization.

Several special assistants to the prime minister may also be affected by the expected reshuffle, sources added.
