Shafaqna Pakistan: The United Nations and humanitarian organisations have warned that the expansion of areas under Israeli control in Gaza is placing civilians at greater risk and further restricting the delivery of humanitarian assistance.
According to a UN and NGO-led coordination body, Israeli forces have used lethal force to enforce access restrictions in these areas, where air strikes and exchanges of fire have also been reported.
The UN said it had verified the deaths of 196 Palestinians, including 18 women and 43 children, in incidents near areas of Israeli military deployment between October 10, 2025, and early April 2026.
Humanitarian agencies said Israeli restrictions continue to severely limit access, delaying or preventing life-saving operations. Several organisations have reduced or suspended their activities following the deaths of aid workers. They also noted that most Palestinians in Gaza have been displaced multiple times and are now concentrated in increasingly crowded areas with limited access to essential services amid ongoing insecurity.
The UN and NGOs called for an end to the targeting of Palestinians near Israeli forces, full protection of civilians under international law, and safe, unimpeded humanitarian access across Gaza.
