Iran has suspended the implementation of its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United States, Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi announced.
According to Iranian media, Gharibabadi said Tehran’s decision was prompted by what it described as repeated US violations of the agreement and breaches of commitments made during negotiations.
He said Iran had entered the talks in good faith, but Washington’s actions had severely undermined mutual trust. Gharibabadi added that strengthening the country’s national defence had become Tehran’s immediate priority in light of recent developments.
The suspension is expected to further heighten diplomatic tensions between Iran and the United States.
