DPM Dar Highlights Need for Greater Coordination

Shafaqna Pakistan: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Saturday reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening cooperative federalism, enhancing intergovernmental coordination and advancing decisions that serve the national interest.

Dar made the remarks while chairing a meeting of the Pre-Council of Common Interests (CCI) Committee, constituted by the prime minister in his capacity as chairman of the CCI. The session was held at the deputy prime minister’s office ahead of the 53rd meeting of the Council of Common Interests.

According to a statement issued by the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting was attended by the federal ministers for Planning and Inter-Provincial Coordination, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, and senior officials from the Cabinet Division, Council of Common Interests, Planning, Petroleum, Water Resources, Power, Health, and Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, along with other relevant stakeholders.

After detailed deliberations, the committee recommended to the prime minister/chairman, CCI, that the next meeting of the council be held in August this year.
