Shafaqna Pakistan: More than 3.4 million foreign pilgrims have entered Iraq through various border crossings to take part in the Arbaeen pilgrimage, according to the head of the country’s Security Media Cell, Lieutenant General Saad Maan.
Speaking to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Maan said that 3,435,492 pilgrims had arrived in Iraq from the first day of Muharram through Thursday night.
He added that the visitors represent 172 nationalities travelling to participate in the Arbaeen commemorations.
Maan said the pilgrimage is progressing in an orderly manner, crediting the coordinated efforts of security forces and Husseini processions for maintaining security, providing essential services and ensuring suitable arrangements for the millions of pilgrims.
