Shafaqna Pakistan: Pakistan secured a 3-1 victory over South Korea in the second match of the four-Test hockey series, taking a commanding 2-0 lead.
The opening quarter ended without a goal, while South Korea broke the deadlock in the second quarter to go ahead 1-0.
Pakistan responded strongly after the break, with Abdul Rehman equalising in the third quarter. In the final quarter, Abu Bakar struck twice in quick succession to seal a convincing 3-1 win for the visitors.
Abu Bakar finished the match with two goals, while Abdul Rehman added one. The contest was attended by Pakistan Hockey Federation President Mohiuddin Wani and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, who watched the action from the stands.
Pakistan Hockey Federation’s (PHF) President Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani presented a commemorative shield to Governor Kundi, who described the successful hosting of international hockey in Pakistan as an encouraging sign for the revival of the sport in the country.
It should be noted that the third Test match of the four-match series will be played on August 4, where Pakistan will have the opportunity to clinch the series.
