Iran Rejects Reports of US Negotiations, Confirms Oman Talks on Strait of Hormuz

Shafaqna Pakistan: Iran is not currently engaged in negotiations with the United States and is instead holding discussions with Oman on establishing a temporary safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said on Monday.

Baghaei said that even if an agreement is reached with Oman, it would not be enough to reopen the strategic waterway, adding that the situation would remain unchanged as long as what he described as US “aggression” continued.

He also clarified that there are currently no plans to send or receive any diplomatic delegation in the coming days.

Commenting on the proposed Hormuz passage, Baghaei said the plan under discussion involves a single navigation route with separate entry and exit lanes.
