Chehlum Procession: Karachi Announces Comprehensive Traffic Plan

Shafaqna Pakistan: Central mourning processions commemorating the Chehlum of Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions will be held across Pakistan on Tuesday, with authorities enforcing comprehensive security measures and special traffic arrangements.

In Karachi, the main Chehlum procession will commence from Nishtar Park and follow its traditional route under heightened security.

To ensure the safety of participants, authorities have placed containers at key access points to seal roads leading to the procession route, while M.A. Jinnah Road will remain closed to traffic for the duration of the event.

Under the traffic management plan, vehicles travelling from Shahrah-e-Quaideen will be diverted towards Kashmir Road and Peoples Chowrangi. Traffic coming from Hasan Square will be rerouted via Shahrah-e-Quaideen, Society Signal and Teen Hatti before reaching Lasbela Chowk.

Motorists travelling from Nazimabad will be able to use Lasbela, Garden and Nishtar Road to reach their destinations, while traffic from Shahrah-e-Faisal will be diverted towards Kashmir Road through Society Signal. Vehicles travelling from Saddar to Tower will be rerouted via Preedy Street and I.I. Chundrigar Road.
