Shafaqna Pakistan: An informed Iranian source said on Wednesday that alleged US interference and threats by US President Donald Trump were the primary factors delaying an agreement with Oman on the Strait of Hormuz, according to local media.
Speaking to Iran’s Sepah News, the source said the ongoing US involvement and Trump’s warnings had hindered progress in the negotiations.
“The main reason for the delay in the agreement with Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz is US interference and Trump’s threats,” the source was quoted as saying.
The source added that no agreement would be reached as long as Iran faced US interference and the threat of military action, stressing that Tehran would not negotiate under pressure or intimidation.
This comes a day after Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Tehran’s talks with Oman on the Strait of Hormuz continue “positively.”
