Shafaqna Pakistan: Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesman Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi has rejected US President Donald Trump’s claim that Washington had established a direct backchannel with the IRGC, saying no negotiations were currently taking place.
Iranian media quoted Mohebbi as describing Trump’s claim as baseless and accusing the US president of invoking alleged diplomatic contacts in an attempt to influence oil and energy prices.
Mohebbi said Trump should acknowledge what he described as the United States’ defeat and accept Iran’s conditions.
Trump had claimed that his administration had established a direct backchannel with the IRGC and said he was in no rush to bring the conflict to an end, as tensions continued over the Strait of Hormuz.
