Panic Selling Triggers Major Crash at Pakistan Stock Exchange

Shafaqna Pakistan: The Pakistan Stock Exchange faced heavy selling pressure on Tuesday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index diving by 2,546 points and inflicting billions of rupees in investor losses.

Although trading started on a positive note during the week’s second session—pushing the index up briefly by roughly 100 points to touch 180,602—intense profit-taking and selling momentum quickly took over.

The market remained firmly in the grip of a bearish slide throughout the day, ultimately forcing the KSE-100 to settle at 177,955 by the close.

The previous trading session had ended on a positive note, with the benchmark index gaining 397 points to close at 180,502.

The sharp reversal highlights continued volatility in the domestic equity market, with investor sentiment turning negative despite the positive opening.
