PCB files complaint over Sky Sports broadcast featuring Imran Khan’s sons

Shafaqna Pakistan: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lodged a formal complaint with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) over an interview with former captain Imran Khan’s sons that was broadcast by Sky Sports during the lunch break on the opening day of the Pakistan-England Test at Lord’s.

According to a British newspaper, the PCB raised a formal objection with the ECB regarding the Sky Sports broadcast.

Reports said the PCB even considered keeping the Pakistan team off the field after the lunch interval as a protest against the interview being aired. However, following a brief delay, the programme was broadcast and the Pakistani players subsequently returned to the field.

The interview was conducted by former England captain and current Sky Sports broadcaster Mike Atherton. During the interview, Imran Khan’s sons, Sulaiman and Qasim Khan, expressed concerns about their father’s health.

The interview was broadcast during the first day of the Test at Lord’s, adding controversy to the ongoing Pakistan-England cricket series.

The Pakistan Cricket Board, however, has not issued a public statement on the matter. Reports indicate that the PCB’s complaint was formally raised with the English board following the broadcast.
