PTI leader urges govt to withdraw cases against Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi

Shafaqna Pakistan : PTI leader Asad Qaiser has called for the withdrawal of all cases registered against party founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi.

Speaking at a meeting on Sunday, Qaiser said the Supreme Court’s verdict had been openly disregarded, while ministers had made their stance on the matter public without hesitation. He urged the authorities to proceed with the contempt of court case currently pending before the Supreme Court.

Qaiser stressed that safeguarding the dignity and authority of the judiciary was of utmost importance. He said those found guilty of undermining the courts should face contempt proceedings and strict punishment, arguing that such action would send a clear message internationally that Pakistan’s judiciary is independent.

The PTI leader said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is going through difficult times. “We have a government but we are not being given the right to rule. The state is not fulfilling its commitment to the people of erstwhile Fata and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is not being given a share in the NFC award as per the Constitution,” he said.

Asad Qaiser demanded that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa be provided with a constitutional share in the NFC award.

He also criticised the Punjab government over the wheat crisis, alleging that Maryam Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif mishandled the wheat issue, causing farmers a loss of Rs900 billion.

The PTI leader further demanded that the ban on the movement of wheat be lifted immediately.
