Shafaqna Pakistan: A fire erupted in the gynaecology ward of Lahore General Hospital, forcing the evacuation of around 70 people, including pregnant women.
According to hospital officials, the blaze was triggered by a short circuit in electrical wiring installed in the ceiling. Patients, attendants and other occupants were swiftly moved out of the affected building as a precaution.
The hospital administration said firefighting teams reached the site without delay and successfully contained the fire. No serious injuries were reported, though a security guard reportedly fell ill following the incident.
The guard was taken to the emergency department of Lahore General Hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment. According to the hospital administration, his condition is out of danger.
