Shafaqna Pakistan- Israeli settler attacks have destroyed greenhouses and damaged crops in Burin, occupied West Bank, but local farmers remain determined to rebuild and continue cultivating their land.
Burin farmer Ghassan Najjar’s phone often begins ringing as soon as Israeli military vehicles enter the village. Such incursions have become a near-daily occurrence, with convoys of armoured personnel carriers moving through the narrow streets while soldiers deploy and shut down shops.
Najjar is among around two dozen farmers who belong to Burin’s Land and Farming Cooperative. With little ability to confront Israel’s military power through force, the farmers have chosen another form of resistance: maintaining their farms, rebuilding what has been destroyed and preserving their longstanding connection to the land.
