60,000 Palestinians Perform Friday Prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque on 4 September 2026

Shafaqna Pakistan: Around 60,000 Palestinians attended Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem despite stringent Israeli restrictions and heightened security measures across the city and around the holy site.

The Islamic Waqf Department in occupied Jerusalem estimated that nearly 60,000 worshippers performed Friday prayers at the mosque.

According to a PIC correspondent, Israeli forces imposed strict entry restrictions, preventing dozens of young Palestinians from reaching Al-Aqsa. Israeli police also arrested a young Palestinian man, Amir al-Rishq, near Bab Hutta in the Old City.

Israeli forces further deployed metal barriers along streets across Jerusalem, particularly around the Old City and Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Israeli forces also stopped a number of worshipers, checked their identification documents and subjected them to searches.
