Shafaqna Pakistan: Consumers across Pakistan are set to face additional financial pressure after the government sharply raised petroleum product prices, taking the cost of petrol to Rs358.77 per litre.
The latest hike comes as fuel prices undergo regular revisions and is likely to further strain household budgets amid rising living costs.
According to a Petroleum Division notification, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs12.90 per litre, while diesel has gone up by Rs3.72 per litre.
Following the revision, petrol will now be sold at Rs358.77 per litre, while the new price of diesel stands at Rs381.77 per litre.
The revised prices will come into effect from midnight and will remain applicable for one day, through September 8, according to the notification.
The latest adjustment comes as the Ministry of Petroleum continues to revise petroleum product prices on a daily basis. The frequent changes are being closely watched by consumers and businesses because fluctuations in fuel prices can have a direct impact on transportation and the cost of goods.
Petrol and diesel remain key components of the country’s transport and logistics network, meaning any significant increase in their prices can quickly affect operating costs for businesses and transport providers.
