Shafaqna Pakistan: Some Afghan girls barred from formal education are continuing their studies at a secret school, despite the risk of arrest and punishment.
CBS News reported on Monday, September 7, that the students are attending classes in secret to preserve their reading and writing skills. The girls said they hope to return to formal education someday and continue their studies without fear.
The continued ban on secondary education for girls remains one of the most severe restrictions imposed on women and girls in Afghanistan.
