After missing flight of MH370 and crashing of MH17 on Ukraine border – both Malaysian Boeings- that killed 227 and 284 people respectively, The crash of the Germanwings Airbus A320 into the French Alps this week was another major crash that killed almost 150 people on board. There were reports that plan was deliberately crashed by co-pilots Andreas Lubitz, though his motives to crash it are yet not clear but it is a clear act of terrorism because it killed 150 innocent people on board. May be after investigations his motives are revealed but one thing is clear that he does not had any link to any Islamists groups otherwise there would have been much hue and cry over this act and Muslim would have been lambasted across the world. This is the sheer duplicity. Earlier this duplicity was shown when Israel committed mass murder of Palestinians.
There also seemed to be an anxiety to associate Lubitz, who apparently suffered from severe depression, with a particular religion. Even now some conjecture as to this is being eked out by the media despite the lack of evidence. This tendency has to be challenged. There has been too much of it in recent years. Persons of other religions, as the Germanwings crash proves, are quite capable of terrible acts of violence motivated by various factors. When a Muslim commits such a heinous act, there is no such justification that whether the man was frustrated or he was sufferings from the hypertension or any sort o anxiety but directly Islam is blamed for such brutal acts though Islam has nothing to do with such barbaric acts. There is a need to be balanced when it comes to the reporting of such incidents. Terrorists have no religion. They have their own motives which have nothing to do with any particular religion or belief.
