SHAFAQNA PAKISTAN (Shia News Agency)
Pakistan is a country of controversies. Whether it is sport, politics, showbiz or social life, it is abuzz with one or the other type of controversies. The latest theater is staged about leaked telehphonic conversation about PTI Chief Imran Khan with his party leader Arif Alvi, allegedly patting him for storming PTV building. Though Imran Khan has rebuffed and said it fabricated yet it should be verified and PTI chief should be hold accountable for misusing his powers. Condoning an act of violence is indeed a crime and should be dealt with Iron hands.
However the second important thing that Imran Khan said is that stealing someone’s privacy is also a crime and indeed it also falls in the category of invasion of someone’s privacy. No one should have the right to tap into the conversations of citizens, all the more so when they are political leaders, and use these against them. We need to know who recorded the conversation and what their purpose was. The government needs to play a part in this. After all, it could become a victim of similar tactics itself. In the past, there have been reports of certain quarters being engaged in such activities, which are essentially both illegal and unethical. Another important aspect is that why this conversation has been made public? It is also a serious crime. Thus this issue should be investigated and both the parties that is one who condoned act of violence and those who tapped the phone call and made it pubic should be punished accordingly.
