General Raheel a man with serious expressions on face has altogether changed the perceptions of politicians about GHQ. When he took oath as COAS, no one was expecting that he would turn a new leaf and even in PTI and PML-N row when every one including media was expecting a military coup he behaved in a very cool manner, until that no politician and media pundit were of the view that he is following the legacy of his predecessor, Ashfaq Hussain Kiyani. After he took over as COAS, Raheel Sharif and corps commanders mulled over changing the status quo in North Waziristan as well as in Karachi. He has many a time categorically stated that the operation is being conducted against all terrorists without any distinction; thus putting the theory of good or bad Taliban at rest. This fact has been acknowledged by the US as well as Afghanistan government. On domestic front, he cautioned those trying to disgrace military and resorting to scathing criticism of armed forces and its agencies, declaring in no uncertain terms that he knew how to safeguard the dignity of the armed forces.
Against all the odds he defied peace talks with Taliban and decided to fight a decisive battle against the terrorists. It was first time that Pakistan abolished the concept of good and bad Taliban because he clearly stated that an indiscriminate action will be taken against terrorists. Apart from this he also send peace overtures to Afghanistan and for the first time Afghanistan trusted in Pakistan. No doubt he is the man of miracle and he has altogether the previous and false concepts that have brought Pakistan to the brink of destruction.
