In recent blitz at Tirah Valley, number of militants of Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) has been killed along with driver of Militant’s senior leader Mangal Bagh. Mangal Bagh, the notorious leader of TTP, that split its ways from the main militant group and founded another faction LI that has once against merged with TTP has been involved in number ot suicide bomb blasts and attacks on Churches, mosquers and Imambargahs. The ongoing Operation Khyber-II is aimed at clear militant strongholds in the agency, especially the Tirah Valley where militants led by Mangal Bagh have enjoyed control for several yearsIn November last year, militants in Tirah Valley publicly beheaded a man accusing him of spying for security forces, which just goes on to show how necessary it is for the state to regain control of the territory.
In the recent jet attacks and gunfights 80 militants have been killed but at the same time number of soldiers has also lost their lives. Pakistan has faced huge economic and human loss in the ongoing operation and World needs to realize Pakistan’s sacrifices in this regard. Though there is no second opinion that Pakistan is fighting the war of its survival but at the same this militancy is threat to entire world and Pakistan is serving both the purpose at the same time that is saving the country and the world. Military leadership is quite sincerely doing its job and now it is the turn of the political leadership to play its part effectively. There is more to it than issuing a couple of overused token statements. There is a war going on, but it certainly doesn’t appear so considering how little the government has done to build a narrative to own and assist the ongoing military action.
Acknowledgement of sacrifices is though an important thing but at the same time the most important is to materialize the dreams of martyrs that is to rid this country of terrorism.
