According a news, Shiite Hazara community met Afghan Taliban to seek help against the rising threat of IS in Afghanistan. For the oppressed Shiite community both are monsters but it seems that they consider IS a greater threat than Taliban. In a welcoming move the same Taliban leaders who massacred Shiite community during their rule agreed upon to help out Shiite Community against IS. The Hazaras – a largely Shia minority killed in the thousands during the Taliban’s hard-line Sunni Islamist rule of the 1990s – came to their old enemies seeking protection against what they deemed an even greater threat: masked men operating in the area calling themselves “Daesh”, a term for the self-style Islamic State in the region. The current threat IS poses in Afghanistan, observers say, is less about real military might than the opportunity for disparate insurgent groups, including defectors from an increasingly fractured Taliban, to band together under this global “brand” that controls swathes of Iraq and Syria. The fear is especially keen among religious minorities like the Hazaras, who worry the influence of the fiercely anti-Shia IS could introduce a new dimension of sectarian strife to the war. After the news of alleged clashes between Afghan Talibn and IS in Kandhar, it seems that Taliban do not want rise of IS in their area and they are preparing to resist IS in Afghanistan. If Taliban are serious to fight out IS threat, Shiite Hazara community can be a great supporter of them. An alliance between Taliban and Shiite Hazara community in Afghanistan would definitely give Daesh a tough time and it would be impossible for the notorious terrorist organization to set up its sanctuaries in Afghanistan. Furthermore If Taliban are serious to join mainstream politics, they would have to take Shiite Hazara community along.
