According to a report published by WHO, 90% diseases in Pakistan are caused by polluted water. According to WHO statistics 2, 50,000 children die due to polluted water. The increasing number of Hepatitis patients is due to polluted water. According to a survey every 2nd Pakistani is suffering from one or the other kind of Hepatitis and Pakistan used to spend 13 million dollar on the treatment of patients affected due to polluted water. According to another report more than 30,0000 Pakistani suffer from diseases caused by polluted water while over 2,00000 lost their life. The most and worst affected are the minors that suffer from diarrhea and other diseases. According to Pakistan council of research citizens of 22 major cities of Pakistan including federal capital is using polluted water.
Pakistan is among the counties that have signed World global challenges and according to one of its condition Pakistan has to provide clean drinking water to 2010 but even after five years Pakistan failed provide clean drinking water to its citizens. If Government is unable to carry this hectic task it should start a public campaign to clean the drinking water through domestic means that is via boiling it or using filters to clean it.
