Finally after a year long protests, rivalry and political face off, PTI and PML-N have agreed upon a judicial commission to probe into rigging allegations in recent general elections. The stalemate between both the parties not only wasted much time of nation but also prolonged the issue to unnecessary long period. However, the fear of impasse is not yet vanished because if PML-N continues its stalling tactics and PTI continues its miraculous demands, the issue would definitely go into limbo. PTI and PML-N have also agreed to take the so-called terms of reference agreed between them to the political parties for their input is also a welcome move: while it has often shaped up as a private battle between the PTI and PML-N, the tussle over the 2013 election results affects all parties — and, far too often forgotten, the voters themselves.
It is an open secret that polls in Pakistan are never impartial, they are always rigged and tilted to a specific political parties by establishment. Although PTI was sure about its victory but establishment did not want Imran Khan at this critical juncture of history. However, Imran Khan has been ruling a turbulent province and this is his test case if he succeeds in bringing betterment in KPK, definitely he will be the next choice of establishment. Therefore he should show some acumen and accept a commission on the issue and accept its results because Pakistan is at cross roads and it is not time of political bickering rather to stand united against terrorism.
