Ban imposed on pillion riding in Islamabad

The authorities concerned have imposed ban on pillion riding in Islamabad for 7 days with effect from midnight today, Geo News reported.

According to Deputy Commissioner, the ban has been imposed due to potential terrorism in the federal capital.

A notification is this regard has been issued here Thursday night.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) are staging sit-ins against alleged electoral rigging and Model Town tragedy for the last 28 days in Islamabad.

Earlier, intelligence agencies on Thursday reported to Interior Ministry that 5 to 6 terrorists were present in the sit-ins of PAT and PTI.

In a report submitted to the Interior Ministry, the intelligence agencies asked the ministry to adopt necessary measures to avoid any possible act of terror, as the terrorists were on a lookout for an opportunity to strike.
