An MA student, who had to drop her college due to sexual harassment by some influential persons of his area and even then was gang raped, threatened to commit suicide if not provided with justice, alleging that the police were siding with the accused after taking bribe.
The resident of Hasilpur and student of masters, Afeefa Sadiya, told the media that two months ago her area’s influential persons Tajamul Hussain used to sexually harass her on her way to college daily. Because of which, she had to leave the college in order to avoid the nuisance, she added.
Even then, Tajamul along with his two accomplices entered her house, abducted her on gunpoint, took her to some unknown place and gang raped, the victim alleged. She said that the accused also captured photographs and made video of the heinous crime, and latter dropped her near a graveyard in critical condition.
The victim girl said that she had filed a complaint with the Police Station City Hasilpur but the police had connived with the accused and did not register a case against them. She said that the accused had been threatening her to publish her nude photographs and videos on the internet.
She demanded that the Punjab chief minister, police and administrative bigwigs to take strict action against the accused after registering a case against them and also recover her video and photographs from them. Else, the student threatened, she would commit suicide in front of DPO Bahawalpur’s office. When contacted, SHO Muhammad Afzal said that he would call both the parties and then further proceedings would be commenced.
