The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday rejected a petition seeking to file a case against 21 persons including the prime minister in the backdrop of Model Town incident.
The petition was filed by a citizen stating that the police is not registering the case despite a sessions court order.
While maintaining the objection, the LHC rejected the petition seeking to register a case against the prime minister and twenty others, stating that the petitioner is not the affected party in the case.
On June 17, fourteen persons including women were killed and dozens injured when clashes between Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and police took place at the Minhajul Quran Secretariat in Model Town in order to remove the barricades.
A local court in Lahore had ordered to register a case against 21 persons including PM Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, eight federal and provincial ministers and senior police officials.
