Imperialism in the words of Hans Joachim Morgenthau, the author of famous book, Politics among Nations is ‘the expansion of state power beyond its borders’. It has gone through many changes and tactics since its conception from military imperialism to colonialism, neo-colonialism, economic imperialism, structural imperialism, cultural imperialism and technological imperialism. In Europe imperialism got its roots from 15th to 18th century when Britain, France, Holland, Portugal and Spain created their colonies in Virgin lands, Hindustan and East Indies. Russia, Italy, Germany and USA joined this race during 19th century. WW-II where bestowed independence to many trapped countries it there also gave new impetus to imperialism and new ways were applied to subjugate the former colonies. The bipolar world broke into unipolar with the fall of USSR and then from unipolarity to multi-polarity now. With the fall of European empires during WW-II, America is since then synonymous to imperialism. Zbigniew Brzezinski national security advisor to Jimmy Carter truly expressed that ‘the three grand imperatives of US imperial geostrategy are to prevent collusion and maintain security dependence among the vassals, to keep tributaries pliant and protected, and to keep the barbarians from coming together’. Indubitably, USA is really a murderous monster, a rogue state, and is sniffing all around like greyhound to fulfill its conceited interests. NASA where it is making headways in space exploration is militarizing it also. This space hegemony along with cyber supremacy and controlling are the other arsenals of imperial designs. The practice of disdaining of the other nations by the imperialists must have an end. Imperialists in this day and age somewhat design to have independent states with weaker governments to rule indirectly. Westerns’ calling themselves as Herrenvolk on the basis of their civilization and white complexion is misguided, wrong and illogical. What will call the European to themselves when they were living in dark ages; they were barbarians and stupid hunters? From where and how the European has learnt the sciences, skills and arts of living etc.? The developed civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt and Sindh came into being more than 2000 years before the Christ. And now the imperialists are civilizing those who once taught them. They were Marco Polo, Vasco da Gama and Ferdinand Magellan who introduced to the European the Asiatic and African lands and paved ways for the imperialists to come, crush and control. The imperial America gradually so exterminated the Red Indians that they are wiped out now. Same happened with the aborigines of Australian lands. At this instant, there are hardly the aborigines both in American and European continents. Spain destroyed Etizek, Inca and Maya civilizations. Cribs and Arawaks of Carrabin were viciously massacred. Same happened with Siovx, Lakota and Cherokee tribes. Maori tribe faced this issue in New Zealand. British king George-III announced that head money for any male Red Indian is forty pounds, and twenty pounds for each skull of their women and children below 12 years will be paid. Trail of Tears is one of the shameful parts of American history. History is witness that the original inhabitants of all these areas were more developed, civilized, expert in the methods of cultivation and well-mannered than the European greedy wealth seekers and bloody hunters. Europeans learnt all such arts from these peaceful and naïve people. Imperial powers have so swallowed the wealth of African and Asian countries that they are continuously in the whirl of destitution. Slaves were abducted from the shores of Africa, forced to work and traded. The imperial and then colonial powers multiplied their incomes on the sweets of these slaves. Imperialists sucked resources of the occupied countries that once self-sufficient countries were made barren, people died due to famines, and contagious diseases stretched by the settlers. Hindustan observed many such droughts and famines. Albert Einstein says ‘the economic anarchy of capitalist society as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of the evil’. And truly it is the fruit of imperialism. Spinning Jenney by Hargreaves in 1764, Steam Engine by Watts in 1779, Water Frame by Art Wright in 1769, Mule by Mattan in 1779 and Power Loom by Cort Wright in 1785 made the imperials dream more easy and the capitalists via these inventions wrung the poor countries. Local industries were halted, banned and exceedingly taxed. Seized countries were used for raw material. Self-sufficient China was injected with opium. Railway tracks were built up to import grabbed raw material and export finished goods. The countries which are today called third world and third rate are the direct creation of imperialists’ brutalities. Ernest Mondale accounts that Europeans looted goods etc having worth more than one thousand million pounds. Imperialism always searches for moral grounds to destroy and rule. It has somehow found this in religion, manifest destiny, white man burden, Darwinism, Pan-Germanism and pan-Slavism. Though Darwinism has been wrongly interpreted and used by its proponents. Israel is doing all this in the name of making its borders safe. Propaganda is the best art of imperialism. Old imperialism was vivid but its present shapes are eyewash, attacking from the backside. Countries were directly under subjugation and suppression. People were well awaked of its cruelties, exploitation and hardships thus resistance movements were started but now its molestation is so complicated that it takes oodles of time to understand. Thus movements against the imperialism and its new forms are tapering. Meanwhile, the masses revolt against their own governments which further results in social anarchy, political chaos, economic devastation and dictatorships. Unfortunately, as was said by Leon Trotsky, a Marxist and founding leader of Red Army that ‘our planet is being turned into a filthy and evil-smelling imperialist barrack’. America has always benefitted from the wars except the one with Vietnam thus it always imposes war on the weaker states as through wars it gets new markets, amplifies weapons sales, flourishes its economy, creates deterrence and havoc and keeps control over the world and its resources. The contemporary conflicted world is its best illustration. Peace throughout the world is impossible until there is imperialism in any form, contour or facet in the world. Liberation from imperialism lies in political consciousness among the deprived nations, their sovereign and competent governments and emancipation from the new-fangled paraphernalia of imperialism. The dilapidated, tattered and ramshackle nations have to come forward to unshackle themselves from the oppressions of imperialism. All the organizations like NAM, OIC, SAARC and AU etc need to unite under a new flag as UN is no more other than the imperialists’ voice and spoke agency. Jack D. Forbes said that ‘he has come to the conclusion that imperialism and exploitation are forms of cannibalism and, in fact, are precisely those forms of cannibalism which are most diabolical or evil’. The cannibals should now no more be given any place to exist otherwise navies’ bleeding will take some more centuries to stop.
