Pakistan cricket team is always found struggling with the bat. Though Pakistan produced number of strong middle ordered batsmen yet it failed to produce a strong opening pair that could provide a basic stand to Pakistan XI. Pakistan has tried number of combination but it could not find a suitable pair. After the departure of Saeed Anwar and Aamir Sohail, Pakistan tried Moin Khan, Rashid Latif, Muhammad Farhat, Kamran Akmal, Nasir Jamshed, Muhammad Hafeez and Taufeeq Umer. Muhammad Hafeez and Shahid Afridi, Muhammad Hafeez and Ahmed Shahzad and number others but it could not find a suitable pair. Once again Pakistan is facing the same problem. In the World cup Pakistan has tried Younas Khan and Ahmed Shehzad but miserably failed. This experience was repeated with Nasir Jamshed and Ahmed Shehzad but result was no different. After Sarfraz have played a wonderful inning against South Africa, there are chances that Sarfraz will open alongwith Ahmed Shehzad. But after constant failure of Ahmed Shehzad the tactics seems not to work. Pakistan should bring Afridi or Umer Akmal down to opening place with Ahmed Shehzad because both the players seem unfit in playing at upper numbers. Only a strong opening stand can reduce Pakistan batting woes.
