The black tradition (Karokari) of so called nationalists and feudals in upper area of Sindh and Balochistan has burnt all social, economical and ethical roots of Sindh and Balochistan, and it is observed for many decades that daughters of have-nots are being killed on the directives of the affluent of concerned area and blame innocent persons to get their own benefits.
It falls under the prerogative of the chief Sardar of the concerned community and area. Has anyone ever heard that the wife, daughter or sister of any Sardar or affluent person has been killed over karo kari? Exactly not, then why the people are not aware of this menace which should come to end now. Had this menace been eliminated, the innocent girl Tahira Khoso might not have been killed by her husband.
This doleful incident occurred in Shikarpur Sindh, but as usual the killer (Tahira’s Husband) is under the protection of the affluent sardar of the area and no one (even law enforcement agencies) has the power to arrest that killer from the fort of renowned personality of Umrani’s Tribe. Why does the government opt for legislation of laws which the influentials themselves violate and the government is also not serious in implementation of these laws.
Many a time, the lawmakers trumpet over the women rights, but no lawmaker has ever raised an effective voice over the tragedy of the killing of innocent girls under the Karokari ritual. The higher authorities of Shikarpur District are requested to take note of the killing of Tahira Khoso and arrest the culprits to put them before the law and make them an example for other people.
