NTS Test: Looting the unemployed

SHAFAQNA PAKISTAN (Shia News Agency)

Getting government jobs is becoming tougher day by day. There were times when it was a tradition to get government jobs through parchee (reference). Government jobs were not even advertised and the induction was highly classified, thus making persons with strong references the only beneficiary. But now jobs are advertised and induction is done on merit in most cases. But huge amounts are collected from candidates in the shape of ‘job application fee’. Normally, this fee for a BPS-17 post advertised through the National Testing Service (NTS) varies from Rs 700 to Rs 1,000. It is important to mention here that job applications can only be submitted through a courier, so, including courier charges, it crosses the figure of Rs 1,000, which is the total cost incurred for applying for a job, no matter whether you get the job or not. The question is that those who apply for the jobs are unemployed which means that they do not have any income source. Thus when they try to apply for the job, first they will have to arrange more than Rs.1000, which sometimes becomes impossible for most of the browbeaten people, thus despite they are able and competent can not apply for the job. It the duty of the government should finance the whole recruitment process. This is an unchecked financial humiliation and due to this problem most of the people failed to apply for the Public sector jobs. Thus it should be binding on the Government or that particular institution who want to recruit people against their vacant posts.
