PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb on Monday said the accountability court’s verdict has proved that the NAB could not prove a dime of corruption, kickback or commission against Nawaz Sharif but exposed the smear campaign run by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Responding to Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry’s statement, Marriyum said that the PTI government had run out of its only distraction tool from the disastrous governance. “Now it’s time for Imran Khan to answer the real questions being asked by the people of Pakistan,” she added.

“Imran Khan and his ministers have lost their minds in frustration because their frivolous accusations of corruption have fallen flat on their face.

The PTI government needs to give an answer regarding Aleema Khan’s NRO; the tax-payer’s billions looted and laundered by Jahangir Tareen and how will that money be brought back to Pakistan. It’s time for the prime minister to now present himself for accountability of his illegal use of government resources, abuse of power and embezzlement of campaign funds. The time has come for Jahangir Tareen to appear before the court for the billions stashed away in the accounts of his cook and gardener,” she said.

The former state minister for information went on to say that the highly condemnable effort by Imran Khan’s government to control freedom of the press through government funds would not keep PTI’s crimes undercover. The country is suffering at the hands of the worst media censorship at the hands of this government, she added.
