Pakistan cricket team who has been struggling in World cup and made a difficult win after losing to India and West Indies. There is sheer criticism on Pakistan cricket team and its management. Where on one side Pakistan Cricket team has failed to show good performance, Cricket team’s chief selector Moin Khan was caught in a casino. In a statement Moin Khan said that he went to Casino for a dinner. It is quite hilarious that Casino is a place where people visit for gambling not for dinner. However, Moin Khan as been called back and PCB assured nation to take strict action against Moin Khan. However today PCB Chairman Shehryar Khan said that Moin has apologized and matter is settled. “Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan declared “chapter closed” in the Moin Khan ‘casino controversy’ after a formal apology from the chief selector on Tuesday” reported Dawn.
The question is that, just an apology is enough? Why Moin Khan has not been held responsible for breaching the code of conduct? How long players and officials will continue to violate the rules? Perhaps they will ever continue doing so as Pakistan is a country where just verbal apology and saying “ Sorry” is enough, how serious crime you may have committed.
