SHAFAQNA PAKISTAN (Shia News Agency)
Pakistan and India are such a poor countries that most of their population living under poverty line. They are even unable to provide basic life facilities to their citizens but both the running amok in enmity and just focusing on their defence. The jingoistic approach of both the countries making lives of citizens miserable. According to a news report “he Indian defence budget is set to hit a record high of $40bn. That compares with a basic and Pakistani military budget of roughly $7bn”.Moreover, a good chunk of the Indian military budget has been set aside for capital acquisitions, ostensibly to try and keep up with rapid Chinese military expansion – though the security establishment here believes many of the items on the Indian military wish list are there with an intention of increasing its war capabilities against Pakistan. Now, to the somewhat better news. In percentage terms, the increase in the defence budget is lower than the current Indian fiscal year (April-March). Military expenditure as a percentage of GDP is below two per cent and dropped further this year.
Pakistan and India needs to understand that if they are increasing their defence budgets to defend their land and people, they are at fault. It’s a zero sum game, no one can take advantage over one and another. If they people will die of hunger, whom they will defend, the dead?
