In an exclusive interview with Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), the European official said on the condition of anonymity that Mogherini will also be on leave during the meeting.

The meeting is slated to be held in Poland on February 13-14.

While denouncing the Polish authorities for hosting an anti-Iran summit, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi reminded them to pay a visit to Iran-Poland Friendship Symbol in Warsaw.

Commenting on the anti-Iran conference in Poland, Qasemi said, “It seems Poland is influenced by the machinations and pressures by the US to be in line with White House’s anti-Iranian policies.’

He referred to hosting such a meeting against Iran as a wrong move and contrary to the international law.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo earlier announced plans to hold a meeting with focus on Iran.

He claimed that countries from Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East will participate in the meeting.

The meeting in Poland will be held in line with the US efforts to promote Iranophobia scenario.

Earlier, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a post on his Twitter page wrote, “Reminder to host/participants of anti-Iran conference: those who will attend the lastest US anti-Iran show are dead, disgraced, or marginalized. And Iran is stronger than ever.’

He added, “Polish Gov’t can’t wash the shame: while Iran saved Poles in WWII, it now hosts desperate anti-Iran circus.’
