It is since one month Saudia has launched air strike on Yemen. As a result of this strike number of people including children and women has died. According to UN the total number killed between 26 March and 22 April now estimated at 551, including 31 women and at least 115 children. Apart from Civilian causalities The total number of people killed is considerably higher. Another 1,185 civilians have been injured, including 35 women and 67 children. Also Violence has persisted across southern governorates due to street battles between groups supporting members of the popular committees affiliated with the Houthis and local armed groups in Abyan, Dhale, Aden and Lahj. Sheer battle and violence has resulted in shortage of food and other life necessities. The number of food insecure people had risen from 10.6 million to 12 million as a result of fighting, with food prices increasing and affecting vulnerable families most strongly. Many Yemenis simply do not have any savings or securities to survive because companies have closed and income has dried up. Even before this crisis, the overall humanitarian needs in Yemen were on a scale similar to the nine countries of the Sahel region combined. And Yemen has almost twice the number of people classified as being in serious food insecurity. The number of displaced persons is increasing by the day. The UN has estimated about 100,000 but other experts say the real number could be much higher. Yemen hosted more than 250,000 refugees and one million immigrants, even before the current conflict. The transportation problem raises the prospect of widespread food shortages, especially since over 90 percent of major cereals in Yemen are imported. Despite the lack of money, the cost of goods is rising sharply.

In order to avoid the major human catastrophe, it is pertinent to resolve this issue on war footing and it is the responsibility of the UN and world powers to hold Saudia from fuelling the tension and resolve this issue diplomatically.
