Pakistan’s forthcoming senate elections are under heated discussion. Senate polls in Pakistan are an open show of corruption, nepotism and kinship. It is an open horse trading without any objection and not only Pakistan people but world at large watches this show of impunity with a criminal silence. The flag bearer of democracy in Pakistan, violate the true spirit openly and later claim to be pious and true democrats. First time in the history of Pakistan, PML-N , the incumbent leadership decided to bring an amendment to avert worst horse-trading in the senate polls. The anti-horse trading bill was a much needed step and PM was hopeful that all the democratic parties would support it. However “ A senior member of the ruling PML-N told Dawn.com that representatives of the MQM, PTI, JI, and Fata welcomed the government’s move, but the leadership of the PPP and JUI-F expressed concern regarding the govt’s move to bring a 22nd constitutional amendment in the upcoming session of Parliament” reported dawn.
Before tabling this bill perhaps PM forgot that a corrupt cannot support any step against corruption. PPP claims to be a true democratic party but after the departure of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed it has become a one man show. While JUI-F chief is a complete example of hypocrisy, dual faced and corruption. Because of his rampant corruption he is rightly known as “ Maulana Diesel”. PM and other parties should first table a bill against these parties and unequivocally ban them from contesting election.
