Pakistani team faced another humiliation in the hands of West Indies in second World cup match. People might have forgotten defeat from India as it was almost expected but defeat from West Indies was something that forced Pakistani nation to stop watching cricket. Whenever Pakistan loses to India, there is common perception that matches was fixed, but what would one say that whether match with West Indies was also fixed? The problem is not match fixing but sheer incompetence of Pakistan cricket team that cannot be fixed. There could be several technical reasons to this defeat like, Pakistan dropped Fawad Alam or did not include Saeed Ajmal to the playing XI. Some would definitely say that Pakistan Cricket team’s captain is not capable of running the team. Some may concluded that Pakistan’s batting order was not appropriate or Pakistan decision to play 8 batsman and three bowlers only against West Indies. Many people were cursing Pakistan’s poor fielding as a reason to this defeat.
Technical reasons are indeed there but the major problem is not playing Xi or poor performance of our players but the Pakistan’s decrepit political and corrupt system. Where chairman of cricket board are appointed on political allegiance rather than their competence such performance are often expected. Until and unless politics is separated from the game, nation should not expect any betterment.
