Load-shedding has been Pakistan’s long term problem. Since 2008 Pakistan has been facing worst kind of load-shedding that has resulted in closure of Pakistan industry, damaged business and poor production. Number o workers linked to such jobs which are directly dependent upon electricity have become jobless. PML-N Government won 2013 election on the promise to end load-shedding but failed miserably. PML-N Government blames it all on the last government for lack of planning and a vision. They say no efforts were made in the past to ensure a continuous increase in the power generation capacity of the country. But despite its lofty claims, the government had failed miserably in rescuing the country’s fledgling energy sector. Government is just giving deadlines on after the other. Before the 2013 general elections, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had claimed that he would end load shedding within months of coming into power but failed to fulfill its promise.The news quoted Khawaja Asif “Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif Saturday said the problem of power loadshedding will be overcome by 2017”. People hope that may it end in 2017 or 2018 but once is should end at any cost. Some people are of the opinion that Government is giving deadline of years after because till that time Government would have completed its tenure and they would be no more accountable to people. But if PML-N should not forget that if it fails to address this issue even till the end of their tenure, People will definitely reject them in the next polls.
