After the arrest of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) from toll plaza today, it is expected that Miftah Ismail would be next in line.

The former prime minister has been arrested in connection with the LNG case by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Abbasi is accused of awarding a 15-year contract for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal against the rules when he was the petroleum minister in former premier Nawaz Sharif’s cabinet. The case was closed by NAB in 2016 but was reopened in 2018.

Ismail is also being probed in connection with the LNG corruption case.

Following former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to arrest former finance minister Miftah Ismail and former managing director of Pakistan State Oil (PSO) Sheikh Imran-ul-Haq.

NAB has issued arrest warrants for Miftah Ismail and Imran-ul-Haq.

They are facing a NAB case regarding Liquefied Natural Gas quota case.
