Human trafficking in Pakistan has increased to a great extent. Majority of Pakistani and Afghan nationals trying to illegally migrate by sea to countries like Australia are religious or ethnic minorities, such as Hazara Shi’ites escaping persecution at home. These trafficking networks in the country are also helping Pakistanis engage in fighting in countries like Syria and Egypt. Trafficking of male Pakistanis to Europe for forced labor is an emerging concern and an increasing number of these illegal migrants are detected using legitimate, but fraudulently obtained travel documents. Trafficking victims are used for domestic service, bonded labour, prostitution, as camel jockeys and as beggars by begging. According to a report published by Dawn “human trafficking and migrant smuggling have generally registered an increase from 2007 to 2013 in Pakistan.The report adds that existence of established smuggling routes can be linked to increased terrorism because the routes can be used to move illegal drugs and members of extremist organisations with a legal footprint”. While Government has closed its eyes on this heinous crime, it poses severe threat to the security of Pakistan but world as well,because terrorist make active use of Government negligence and export terrorist to different countries.
