Where Pakistan has earned fame as a country struck with terrorist, it also enjoys reputation as international brokers. It was Pakistan who brokered deal between China and US four decades ago. Few months ago Pakistan brokered another successful deal between China and Afghan Taliban. In another breakthrough “a Senior Pakistani army and diplomatic officials said on Thursday the Afghan Taliban have signaled through the Pakistani military that they are willing to open peace talks, which could be held later in the day” Reuters added. Sources within the Afghan Taliban said their negotiators would hold the first round of peace talks with US officials in Qatar later on Thursday, although no comment was immediately available from US or Qatari officials.
Pakistan has been knows as the father and master of Taliban. It was rightly said that Taliban were installed by Pakistan and all most all the prominent Afghan leaders were alumni of Pakistani madrassas. By this gesture of Afghan it seems that Pakistan wants to bring Taliban in mainstream politics of Afghanistan to break Indian influence in the country. Pakistan always considered Afghanistan as its strategic depth and it never wanted to fall Taliban in the bloc of India, therefore Pakistan has not only taken Ashraf Ghani into confidence regarding future security of Afghanistan but also trying to bring Taliban into mainstream politics.
