Shafaqna Pakistan:Cracks in Punjab’s ruling coalition are visible once again, as a provincial minister from the Pakistan Muslim League-Q complains of being ignored by Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar.

Bao Muhammad Rizwan, the minister for environment protect in Punjab, has protested vocally in government meetings to the chief minister for not allocating development funds for his constituency, an official, who asked not to be named, told Geo.tv. Rizwan was elected in 2018 from Sialkot on a provincial seat.

The minister was further snubbed when the chief minister visited Sialkot, earlier this month, to distribute health cards and announce development schemes.

Rizwan, say those privy to the developments, wasn’t invited by the chief minister to any of the events he attended in the minister’s city.

Further adding insult to injury, the chief minister distributed health insurance cards to voters from Rizwan’s rival group. Attempts to meet the chief minister has also been unsuccessful, a source added.

The minister could not be reached for comments.

In Punjab, after the 2018 election, the chief minister’s political party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), made an alliance with the PML-Q to form government in the province. Several members of the PML-Q were later also inducted into the provincial cabinet.

This is not the first time signs of rupture have emerged in the coalition. In January, Hafiz Ammar Yasir, the minister for Mines and Minerals, from the PML-Q resigned over interference in his work. He later took back his resignation.

While late last year, a video leaked of PML-Q leaders Pervaiz Elahi and Tahir Bashir Cheema complaining about the Governor of Punjab to PTI’s senior leader Jahangir Tareen about the governor creating hurdles for the chief minister.
