For the people living in India and Pakistan, Cricket diplomacy is not something naïve. Though Pakistan and India pole apart and there are frequent border skirmishes yet as the cricket season approached Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a call to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and wished him good luck for the match. Modi told Nawaz Sharif about the visit of Indian foreign secretary during this call. Mr Nawaz Sharif also said that Indian foreign secretary would be welcomed. It’s a good gesture by Indian political leadership after a complete pause in dialogue process. Though no major breakthrough can be expected from secretary level talks yet it may ease the ongoing tension on border and pave way for further dialogue process.
