Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi who was on two days visit of Pakistan and met several military and government official of Pakistan, has wrapped up his visit. Pakistan seems quite anxious to show US that Pakistan has alternate if it banks upon India. Pakistan who is keen to ink civil nuclear deal with US, was dismayed after Obama did not consider Pakistan in his recent visit to India and inked several MoUs and agreements with it. In recent visit of Wang Yi the major topic was Afghanistan and China has assured to play its role in reconciliation process. If Afghanistan falls in China and Pakistan block it would really be a setback for India and US because US wants India to reign in South Asia in order to counter China’s influence in the region. While China is trying to make Pakistan capable of keeping India off balance, thus both the South Asian countries are making hay in sunshine. But they should not forget it would unleash an arm race in South Asia that would be disastrous for the region.
