Afghan Refugee Doctor Saleema Rehman wins hearts of Pakistanis with her efforts to save Pakistani coronavirus patients

Shafaqna Pakistan:If the coronavirus pandemic has taught us one thing, its that the real heroes are the doctors and medical professionals alongside the law enforcement agencies, who are risking their own lives to save others.

The doctors and nurses are the frontline warriors in this battle, and the entire world is indebted to them for their selfless services. Dr. Saleema Rehman, an Afghan refugee in Pakistan, is another such hero who is pursuing this noble profession.

Saleema works at Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi where she is taking care of the coronavirus patients alongside her fellow doctors and paramedical staff.

The total number of reported coronavirus cases have jumped above 4,000 in Pakistan with over 50 deaths.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UHNCR) Representation for EU Affairs posted a tribute to the brave doctor on Twitter, saying, “At Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi, Afghan refugee Dr. Saleema Rehman provides a lifeline to some of the poorest people in Pakistan”.
