Shafaqna Pakistan: The Sindh Assembly passed a resolution to write Khatam-an-Nabiyyin with the name of Hazrat Muhammad Ṣallā Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam (SAW).

The resolution was moved by Muhammad Hussain, a member of the Sindh Assembly from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM-Pakistan).

The resolution said that Prophet Muhammad is the last prophet and we believe that no prophet will come after him.

He said that in Sindh it should be ensured that wherever the name of Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) is mentioned, Khatam an-Nabiyyinn should be written and recited along with it.

Opposition leader of Sindh Assembly Firdous Shamim Naqvi supported the resolution and requested Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to legislate it. Provincial Information Minister Nasir Shah endorsed the resolution.

Firdous Shamim Naqvi said that Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) is the last of the prophets, not only a resolution should be brought on it but a regular bill should be brought and also ensured the full support.

It may be recalled that on July 24, Federal Interior Minister Brigadier (retd) Ijaz Shah had said that the belief on the end of prophet hood in the constitution and the amendment or abolition of Islamic provisions could not be imagined.

In a meeting with the delegation of Pakistan Ulema Council, the Federal Interior Minister had said that the use of religion and fatwas for political purposes was regrettable.

Ejaz Shah said that the Ulema should expose the elements that spread sedition and mischief, there is an urgent need to discourage those who issue fatwas for political and personal purposes in the name of Islam.
