Shafaqna Pakistan: As previous Gallup Survey showed that U.S. leadership approval has hit an all-time low, now same is the case with Trump’s Job approval rating which slides to 39%. Amid the racial injustice and widespread protests across the Country, Trump’s Job approval has caused a new problems for the US president.

The decline in approval could be the result of several factors including the death of George Floyd in the hands of White Police officers and a decision by the house of representatives to launch an impeachment inquiry against Donald Trump following his dealings with the Ukraine Government.

Another important factor that has hit Trump’s popularity and Job approval is poor response to the Coronvairus pandemic as the poll show that wide majority was not in favor of Government’s response to the pandemic that caused infections spiked in many areas of the country in mid-March.

Implications for the Trump’s office

The current level of approval would make another term as president unlikely, given the historical relationship between job approval ratings and incumbent reelection.

With five months to go before Election Day, there is a chance for the Trump’s Government to improve its rating upto 50% but in current scenario it seems impossible as country seems completely divided over racial discrimination.

This would also result in a massive wave of unemployment in the country leaving a great setback to the economy and Trump’s presidential campaign for the second term in office.
